I met Monique last year at the P
aradise
City Show in Marlborough, MA. Her display was raw, industrial looking,
and stood out from everyone else at the show. From afar you saw raw
thick dark pipes topped with fantastic natural shaped wood stained in a
dark brownish red. After standing in awe of the display itself, I went
in for a closer look. Wow! Monique's jewelry was nothing short of
amazing! On top of the various wood surfaces were intricate necklaces,
rings, bracelets and earrings.
I
talked to Monique for a bit about her jewelry and techniques (wish I
got a picture). She is so easy to talk to, and it is apparent from the
start that she is very passionate about her craft. In addition to her
amazing jewelry, she also teaches classes on metalsmithing at
MetalWerx in Waltham, MA.
